Two awesome markets in one weekend!
What do you have planned this weekend?

If you’re free on Saturday come down to Centennial Park for the Etsy Made Local Market Extravaganza with over 95 local artisans, live music, food and sustainability activities. Join the Facebook event for a preview.

If you’re free on Sunday come to the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability’s Artisan Market in Waverton for a more relaxed vibe. Bring a picnic for the revitalised loading platform, check out the native gardens and visit some history in the old coal processing tunnels while you’re visiting.

Make sure to say hi and let me know you read the blog for a very special exclusive offer.

If you’re looking for something unique and unusual. You want to meet the maker. You want to shop local. And you want to pick up some beautiful Sydney history while you’re there.

Come on down to the Sydney Made in May Markets in partnership with The Rocks. I’ll be there on Saturday 19th May 10am til 5pm on Jack Mundey Place, between Argyle Street and George Street. Other artisans on the line-up include gemstone jewels from Sinead Buckney, clutches from Kimono Yamamatoto and resin art and homewares from Stella and Olive Design.

Image from the incredibly talented Stephanie Gray of Erlenmeyer Art who will also be there!

Etsy Community Market powered by Square with Sydney Made

Another half year, another Etsy market. I’m so lucky to be one of the volunteers on the Sydney Made team and share in the incredibleness that are Etsy markets in Sydney.

At the end of July we were back at Brewery Yard for a special partnership market with Etsy and Square (they are a credit card processing company for those not in the know).

With everything crossed for lovely weather, Sydney really turned it record breaking winter temperatures.

This was the first market I’ve ever done without my trusty side kick husband and it was my best so far! Not sure those two things correlate but it did mean I didn’t really escape for any posed photos. Here are some shots of the stall layout instead.

The annual Etsy Made Local Market is becoming a highlight of the handmade calendar.

This year the Sydney Made team partnered with Brewery Yard to delivery another incredible market day. The glorious weather and lots of local folks who love buying handmade made it even better.

I’ve already got my fingers and toes crossed for another Sydney Made Etsy Market for more fun like this.

Sydney Made Vivid Market : June 2016

Vivid festival has become a highlight in Sydney’s winter calendar. This year the organisers, together with Etsy and the Sydney Made team, planned a one day market extravaganza to showcase some of Sydney’s talented makers.

The venue was incredible. The historic pier 2/3, stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and right in the centre of the Walsh Bay action. However, the weather had other plans. Torrential rain and gale force winds forced Vivid organisers to cancel the evening’s light shows. But Sydney shoppers and makers turned out in force all through the day to show their support and dedication to the handmade cause.

We had an amazing time even if my shoes were wet for most of the day. And massive thanks to everyone who braved the cyclonic conditions to prove indoor markets are the best!

Sydney Etsy Made Local Market : November 2015

On Saturday 28th November 2015, communities around the globe united to hold the first global Etsy Made Local Market.

Celebrating handmade and local talent are personal passions. I was delighted to help organise the market with Sydney Made, an Etsy team, and to participate in the market.

The local turn was incredible, we’d anticipated a crowd but the number of supporters for handmade was a sheer joy.

Here’s a close up from the stall with a cheeky reflection in the mirror!
